Once a student has been invited to join the program they are given a yearly scholarship of $200. This is used to help offset the costs of uniforms, books and transportation.
Carlos Alta meets with parents to check student grades and give out scholarships.
The parents of each student must then meet with the Scholarship Team twice a year: once in November to show proof of matriculation and to receive the first $100, and then in March to turn in the students’ grades and receive the remaining $100.00. During both meetings parents must provide receipts for the purchase of approved school items, totaling or surpassing the amount of funds received. While students must maintain a minimum of 8.0 (out of 10.0) in every class to remain eligible for the scholarship, our students are truly outstanding and most score in the range of 9.0 and above!
Finally, parent involvement is very important to us. With that said, our scholarships are designed to offset but not fully subsidize the cost of high school education. Additional costs beyond those of uniforms, books and transportation are therefore assumed by parents.
